This year, BIKE Athletic had the honor of sponsoring a team for the Aids/Life Cycle, Team Provincetown-powered by BIKE Athletic.
After 545 miles, 7 days, and countless hills, Team Provincetown x Powered by BIKE has officially crossed the finish line of the @aidslifecycle ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and they did it with unstoppable spirit, strength, and style.
This incredible team trained for months, fundraised with passion, and rode with purpose. Along the way, they raised over $33,000 to help end HIV/AIDS and support those affected. But what they accomplished goes far beyond the numbers.
The AIDS/LifeCycle is more than a bike ride, it’s a deeply emotional journey that brings together thousands of cyclists, volunteers, and supporters for a shared cause. This year, 2,400 riders and 800 volunteers took part in the experience. For many, including Team Provincetown, it was nothing short of life-changing.
Riders stopped at schools where teachers had created LGBTQ+ history lessons in anticipation of their visit. They listened to powerful stories from longtime activists who have been advocating for HIV and AIDS care since the 1980s.
There were also themed rest stops featuring Shrek and Mean Girls drag, and an endless supply of candy to keep spirits high.
Team Provincetown showed up for each other. They shared meals, tents, hotel rooms, and plenty of laughs (and a few tears too). They also did it in style, their BIKE Athletic jerseys were among the most talked-about on the route. But it wasn’t just about looking good; it was about riding with heart. And they delivered.
The journey may be over for now, but the momentum continues. Team Provincetown is already planning their next ride together on Cape Cod this fall. One thing’s for sure: this is a team powered by purpose, community, and a whole lot of love. This was BIKE’s first year sponsoring, and it won’t be our last.
